Horseback riding inherently offers lessons in focus, assertiveness, and self-awareness. Through lessons and trail rides, campers learn to feel relaxed and in control of their horse. In addition to horseback riding, there is a focus on horse care and safety, including grooming and tacking. From a Jewish perspective, our campers learn why the horses also rest on Shabbat and the importance of caring for animals. We provide helmets for all participants and long pants and closed-toe shoes are required to participate. Each of our campers will have the opportunity to have beginner horseback riding lessons and may choose Horseback Riding as one of their electives for advanced lessons.
