Camp Judaea, one of the six regional camps across the United States sponsored by Hadassah, is located in Hendersonville, NC - approximately 175 miles Northeast of Atlanta. Each summer over 500 campers from the South and Mid-Atlantic states participate in 2, 4, or 8 week sessions. Located on 118 acres of lush, rolling terrain that offers clean air, blue skies, and tall trees in a beautiful mountain setting, Camp Judaea's programs include horseback riding, basketball, softball, arts & crafts, ceramics, drama, field trips, amusement parks, a swimming program, canoeing, tennis, special teen trips to New York & Washington, DC, and much more.
Camp staff place special emphasis on Jewish heritage and a connection to Israel. Each age group has a theme-oriented program consisting of informal educational activities programmed by the staff. Camp Judaea is equipped with two kosher kitchens and provides an enriching Shabbat experience.
The Camp Judaea PhilosophyCamp Judaea's philosophy centers around five critical areas of knowledge and development refered to as our “pillars”:
Israel * Judaism * Individual Growth * Community * NatureAll of the programs at Camp Judaea are designed to strengthen our campers' connection to these five areas. From horseback riding to climbing our tower and learning about nature to creating art, each activity in our program strives to integrate two or more of our pillars.
Our educational program is sequentially based, with each age group focusing on a particular theme for the entire session. Our campers learn through fun interactive activities.
