Sandra Bass, Camp Director

Sandra Bass has been with Camp Judaea since 1986: first as a camper, then as a counselor, followed by division supervisor, and then Assistant Director. Sandra began working professionally for Camp Judaea in 1998.

Sandra holds a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Florida. Her undergraduate degree, also from the University of Florida, is in Special Education with a minor in Jewish Studies. Sandra grew up in Miami, but currently resides in Atlanta. Since spending a year in Israel in college, Sandra has traveled to Israel just about every other year.

Sandra speaks English and Spanish fluently and is available to answer any questions you might have about the program or to discuss any specific needs you or your child might have.


Lori Goldstein, Assistant Camp Director

Lori Goldstein started her CJ memories in 1998 and has been a camper, counselor, specialist, supervisor and now Assistant Director. Previously Lori worked for Young Judaea as a Southeast area supervisor.

Lori is from Augusta, GA and after spending a semester in Israel at Ben-Gurion University she received her Bachelors degree from the American Jewish University in Jewish Studies and Arts & Advocacy. Lori is currently in graduate school and will receive her Masters in Jewish Education.

Lori is looking forward to many exciting summers working with your children!



Phyllis Major, Camp Registrar

Phyllis Major works full time in the Atlanta office as Camp Judaea's registrar. Phyllis has over 20 years of experience working for non-profit Jewish organizations. Before coming to Camp Judaea, Phyllis spent seven years with the Atlanta Jewish Federation.

Phyllis is available to answer any and all questions regarding registration and enrollment at Camp Judaea.


Danny Tokar, Administrative Assistant/Chef

Danny Tokar arrived at CJ in 2004, just looking for a summer kitchen job.  The opportunity arose for Danny to quickly take charge and he stepped up to the plate.  He has been our Executive Chef ever since.  In 2007, Danny received his Associates Degree from Valencia Community College, and shortly after moved to Atlanta.  After the move, another CJ opportunity opened up, allowing Danny to join the year round staff.  Danny’s position during the year is an Administrative Assistant, as well as continuing to be the Chef during the summer.

Danny is available to answer any and all questions regarding registration, enrollment, scholarship, or incentive grant information at Camp Judaea. Danny is also available to answer any and all questions regarding dietary needs for your child(ren) attending Camp Judaea.




Greg Schlam, Development Associate

Greg Schlam started at Camp Judaea in 1987 as a curly head camper living in cabin 10, and has been living the Judean dream ever since. Greg has held many different roles at CJ from camper, cabin counselor, supervisor, specialist, camp coordinator, and now as the new Development Associate. Greg worked for Southeast Young Judaea as an Area Supervisor for 5 years before starting in his new role on CJ’s Development team.

Greg was born and raised in Georgia, and was grateful to have a place like CJ to give him an outlet to build a Jewish identity while living in a small southern community. Greg attended the University of Georgia, and received a Degree in Communication. He looks forward to working with all the camp Alumni and Friends of Camp Judaea to help secure Camp Judaea’s growth for the next 50 years.
