Our Athletics program includes basketball, tennis, archery, volleyball, soccer, softball, kickball, and Israeli games. Campers learn the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship in the context of sports. Israeli games are also offered, with different materials and unusual rules, challenging our campers with new games.

Arts & Crafts Arts & Crafts
Whether campers are making murals, mosaic, mezuzot, or chamsot, Omanut is always a busy place! Many of our activities have Jewish themes. Other activities utilize recycled materials like milk cartons or cereal bowls to incorporate themes taught in our nature program.

Drama Drama
Everyone at camp has an opportunity to be a part of our drama program. Campers have fun while building their self-confidence. Through interactive drama games and improvisational performances, the campers become stars in front of their peers. Each of our units put together a play for the whole camp. In addition to acting, campers are eager to help behind-the-scenes with sets, lighting, and sound.

Horseback riding inherently offers lessons in focus, assertiveness, and self-awareness. Through lessons and trail rides, campers learn to feel relaxed and in controlof their horse. In addition to horseback riding, there is a focus on horse care and safety, including grooming and tacking. From a Jewish perspective, our campers learn why the horses also rest on Shabbat and the importance of caring for animals. We provide helmets for all participants and long pants and closed-toe shoes arerequired to participate.  Weather permitting, our campers will have the opportunity to ride three times per session.

Campers learn conversational Hebrew through fun and exciting games and activities that teach them useful phrases and words. From learning the names of different clothing articles while playing a clothing relay race to learning the names of the food that we eat and utensils that we use putting together a Hebrew only meal, Hebrew is a dynamic activity.

Lake Lake Activities
We offer canoeing and paddle boating at our lake. Our campers get a chance to learn new skills and enjoy the surroundings.

Dance Rikkud (Dancing)
Rikkud is a very big deal at Camp Judaea. On Saturday nights the entire camp comes together after Havdalah for an intense session of Israeli dancing. Throughout the week the campers learn the new dances for the summer and practice old favorites. After dinner the whole camp often breaks into a dance session. In addition, each week an Eda (unit) is chosen to help Camp Judaea welcome Shabbat with a dance for Kabbalat Shabbat – it is truly special.

Challenge Course Challenge Course
The Challenge Course at Camp Judaea is a carefully planned outdoor learning environment. A series of individual and group physical and mental challenges require a combination of teamwork and individual commitment. We have both low and high challenge course elements constructed of rope, cables, and wood. We are very happy to house an amazing climbing tower. Our campers have the ability to climb up fifty feet, rappel down, or zip through the woods from the top of the tower. No special skills are required - it is challenge by choice. Activities are structured for everyone to participate at his or her own level, regardless of age, shape, or size.

Singing Shira (Singing)
Our campers get the chance to learn new songs every week and then sing them together after meals. The chader ochel (dining hall) echoes with the Hebrew words of songs. During the week, the edot (units) learn new songs and play games to learn the meanings of the words and songs that we sing.

Swimming Swimming
Camp Judaea has a junior Olympic-size swimming pool. We offer both recreational and instructional swim (for our younger groups). Our guards will teach a variety of strokes, including the front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly.

Scouting Tsofiut (Israeli Scouting)
The Israeli Scouts come from Young Judaea's sister movement in Israel, the Tsofim. Every summer, two delegates are sent to our camp as counselors in order to strengthen the connection between the two youth movements. Our scouts teach the campers what it is like to be a part of the Tsofim through participating in different traditional Israeli Scout programs. Learning to tie knots, baking pita and, of course, cheering are all a part of a day with the Tsofim.

  Chuggim (Electives)
In addition to all of the regularly scheduled activities, chuggim is a time block that allows our campers to choose the activity at which they want to spend more time. Our staff members bring very creative ideas and skills every year and have put together everything from aerobics and ultimate Frisbee to modern dance and horse care. Chuggim are offered daily for one hour.
