Programs
Nitzanim
For boys and girls currently in the 2nd grade.

The two-week Nitzanim program is designed to give our youngest chanachim (campers) an introduction to Camp Judaea and Young Judaea without having to spend an entire session away from home. A very high staff-to-camper ratio ensures that the Nitzanim campers are very well cared for.

Offarim
For boys and girls currently in the 3rd grade.

Our Offarim campers focus on community.  In addition to all of the regular camp programming, the educational component is based on learning about the Jewish communities here in the US and in Israel and how each of them fits into the greater Jewish community.  Offarim campers are assigned to a big brother or sister in Bogrim for the summer.

Oranim
For boys and girls currently in the 4th grade.

In Oranim we emphasize the importance of self-reliance, making new friends, and learning new skills. Each day is filled with games, sports, special events, and projects geared to the interests and needs of this age group. In Oranim our campers focus educationally on "the Jewish life cycle" and "Bible stories." Offarim campers are assigned to a big brother or sister in Bogrim for the summer.

Sayarim
For boys and girls currently in the 5th grade.

The important emphasis within this unit is the development of the individual and his/her relationship to the group. The staff members assigned to this group have demonstrated their interest, experience, ability, and personality characteristics especially compatible with this age group. Sayarim campers take a journey through the stories of Jewish and Zionist Heroes and, by the end of the session, place themselves on that "timeline," indicating what kind of hero they would like to become.

Tsofim
For boys and girls currently in the 6th grade.

As pre-teens, these chanachim (campers) have special needs to express their individuality and, at the same time, to participate in a strong peer-group experience. We stress activities that meet these needs. Educationally, Tsofim campers focus on Israeli Culture.

Kesher
For boys and girls currently in the 7th grade.

Chanachim (campers) finishing the seventh grade are often taking their first step into adolescence — physically, spiritually, and intellectually. The Kesher goal is to help these young people find direction from a positive, Jewish, peer experience. The main focus in this age group is to develop each camper’s Jewish Identity.

    Kesher New York Trip:
The entire Kesher unit will travel to New York City during their session. They will participate in a fun and educational program that explores the "Past, Present, and Future of American Jewry", including visits to Ellis Island, the Lower East Side, and other significant Jewish landmarks. In addition, the trip includes an off-Broadway show, a visit to a Major League Baseball game, and many of New York's spectacular sights, such as the Empire State Building and the South Street Seaport. All transportation (via chartered bus), meals, housing, entrance fees, and program costs are included.

Bogrim
For boys and girls currently in the 8th grade.

Mindful of the interests and needs of teenagers, special groups and educational experiences are designed to meet their intellectual and social horizons. We emphasize self-determination, as it is an important process for the young adolescent. Bogrim campers participate in discussions and activities that bring them closer to the idea "From Dream to Reality." In this process they not only learn about the founding of the Jewish State, but they also learn the importance of taking their own dreams onto a different level.

    Bogrim Washington, DC Trip:
The entire Bogrim unit will travel to Washington, DC, during the first session. To augment their education program, which teaches them about social and political action, the Bogrim will meet with influential members of Congress, as well as with leaders of American Jewish movements and organizations such as AIPAC and the Anti Defamation League. The campers will also have the opportunity to see a show at Washington's famous theater, the Kennedy Center, to visit the national monuments and Smithsonian museums, and to attend a Baltimore Orioles game. All transportation (via chartered bus), meals, housing, entrance fees, and program costs are included.

Chalutzim
A once in a lifetime experience for current 9th graders.

Our group of chanachim (campers) and staff spend 10 days with course leaders from the North Carolina Outward Bound School (NCOBS) for a program of group building, leadership training, appreciation and knowledge of nature, self-awareness, discipline, personal growth, and survival. Through the physical challenge of expedition hiking, rock climbing and rappelling, high ropes course, a supervised solo in the forest, and a service project, participants learn to overcome the mental and emotional challenges in their lives. NCOBS has been operating for nearly 40 years and has an impeccable safety record. An Outward Bound course can truly be a life-changing experience. Back at Camp Judaea, Chalutzim participate in outdoor activities, a service project, and the usual fun of camp life. Participants are required to attend Camp Tel Yehudah, Young Judaea's national senior leadership camp, during first session. Please call 1-800-970-2267 to reach the Tel Yehudah office.

Hadracha Plus
A two-month long leadership training program for current 10th graders.Hadracha is a hands-on leadership training that focuses on working with children, program planning, and teamwork, all of which prepare the participants for staff positions. Hadracha is a two-part program that begins at Camp Tel Yehudah. Hadracha applicants must attend Camp Tel Yehudah, the national senior leadership camp of Young Judaea, during the first session.
