Health & Safety SafetyAt Camp Judaea, every activity is planed with "safety first." As an American Camping Association Accredited Camp, we adhere to all standards for safety. All potentially hazardous areas in camp are off-limits to ALL campers. Our pool and waterfront staff members are all certified lifeguards. Lifeguards accompany campers whenever they take part in any water related field trip outside camp grounds. Our stables, pool, and challenge course are situated well away from camp living and activity areas and are off limits without the required staff.
Supervision is a priority and campers are never left alone, even after “lights out.”
SecurityCampers are required to wear identifying camp T-Shirts and security bracelets when outside of camp. Campers are always well supervised and not allowed to leave camp for any reason aside from supervised field trips.
Camp Judaea hires security guards to patrol camp every night. All daytime visitors check in at the office before they can enter into the rest of camp. Every vehicle that enters must also register their car with the office.
HealthFull-time medical staff is available at our Health and Wellness Center and the camp has access to the nearby hospital. All of our campers must have a completed health file before they arrive at camp so that our Health Care staff can properly service each person properly.
Camp Judaea campers that require regular medication must fill their prescriptions through CampMeds. For more information, please download the following letters or view their website

Staff Every staff member—from the kitchen staff to the cabin counselors, from the lifeguards to the Camp Director—works hard to make CJ a home for every camper. In fact, many of our staff have been calling Camp Judaea home for years. CJ fosters such a strong loyalty among its campers that many of them return to camp as staff, to give back to the place that they feel gave them so much.
The CJ tsevet (staff) is comprised of individuals who have years of experience in summer camping, both as campers and as staff, and a desire and ability to work with children. They are highly skilled and motivated to work with Jewish children in our unique environment. They bring with them an understanding of young people, camping skills, and an outstanding Jewish and Zionist background.
Our tsevet (staff) receive extensive training during our week-long Staff Orientation. We are always seeking qualified college students and graduates for counseling positions as well as support staff. For more information or for a staff application, please contact our office.
In selecting the 100 staff members who will make CJ their home for the summer, we adhere to all standards set by the American Camping Association.
If you are considering working at Camp Judaea, please
contact our office and send in an application. We do have a limited number of positions available and most fill very quickly.
