In response to COVID-19, Camp Judaea is sad to share that we have cancelled all onsite programming for the summer of 2020.
In about a week, all enrolled families will be receiving an email with instructions on how to redirect tuition payments into a donation, a payment towards Summer 2021, or a refund.
It’s hard to imagine a summer without Camp Judaea; there’s nothing quite like the love and energy we feel from within our gates. While we are heartbroken not to be able to gather this summer in Hendersonville, we are also preparing for the serious financial implications of canceling camp. Camp Judaea’s non-profit business model relies heavily on camper tuition to cover our summer costs and support our organization’s year-round operations.

Dear CJ Family,
We hope that you and your family are all well, and we thank you for your continuous and unwavering support of Camp Judaea.
With great sadness, we are writing to share that we have cancelled all of Camp Judaea’s onsite programming for the summer of 2020.
As CJ alumni ourselves, we share in your heartbreak. We know how important camp is. We know it from first-hand experience as campers, as staff members, and as parents. We know that our campers and staff desperately need camp this summer. But the health and safety of our campers and staff is our first priority, and with the absence of clear guidance from state or federal agencies, we feel it is in the best interest of our campers and staff — and their families — to cancel our programs.
For 60 years we have always been one family — the Camp Judaea family. We are dedicated to supporting you, our family, through this difficult time.
After we’ve had a chance to speak with our campers and staff, we’ll be turning our attention to keeping our CJ family connected and finding creative ways to take CJ to you for the rest of 2020 and into next spring. Of course we’ll also be hard at work planning the summer of 2021, which is sure to be one of the most meaningful summers in Camp Judaea’s history.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 404-634-7883. We thank you for your continued support of Camp Judaea, and we look forward to the summer of 2021, when, full of joy and laughter, we’ll celebrate our 60th anniversary and so much more.

Ari Kurtz, Board Chair
We will be offering enrolled 2020 families these options:
1) We are more than happy to rollover your paid tuition and automatically enroll your eligible camper(s) for summer 2021.
We will guarantee no price increase for 2021 for anyone who chooses this option.
2) If you’re in a position to do so, we hope you’ll consider converting part of your paid tuition into a tax-deductible donation to Camp Judaea, a nonprofit organization whose annual operations, including staff salaries, insurance, maintenance, training, and supplies, rely heavily on camper tuition dollars.
The Harold Grinspoon Foundation will generously match your contribution to CJ, dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of your gift!
3) You can request a refund of your paid tuition.
We’ll work out a refund plan with you, with refunds beginning in September.
4) If more than one of these options resonates with you, please let us know.
We’re happy to work with you to determine a plan that feels comfortable for your family.
If you have questions about your 2020 camp scholarships, please contact Gayle Kaplan.
