In addition to the Outward Bound program, Camp Judaea is proud to announce a second option for rising 10th grade campers called…
Chalutzim: Southern Jewish Journey!
Participants of the Chalutzim: Southern Jewish Journey track will spend six days touring the Southern United States, exploring the Civil Rights movement of the 1950’s and 60’s and the ties to Jewish communities in this part of the country. The track will feature stops in Birmingham, Montgomery, and Selma, AL, as well as Atlanta, GA. There will be visits to important civil rights history sites and participants will meet with members of different southern Jewish communities. And, of course, there will be plenty of fun activities in the evenings (plus a few surprises along the way!) This new Chalutzim track will provide insights into the intertwined history of Southern Jews and the Civil Rights movement that campers may otherwise not get at their school back home, all while enjoying another summer at CJ.
Dates for Chalutzim: Southern Jewish Journey
Monday, June 8, 2020 – Wednesday, June 24, 2020
**so that participants can also attend Camp Tel Yehudah which begins on June 24**
