Dear Second Session Families:

Welcome to Camp Judaea!  It has been such a beautiful and happy first week at Camp.  Check out the Week 1 Edition of The CJ NEWS here.  

All of our campers have settled in nicely and have just returned from bowling today while our Chalutzim campers returned from a white-water rafting adventure. Yesterday, our entire camp participated in our Tu B’av/Good Deeds Day which featured a fair celebrating good deeds and random kindness in accordance with the Israeli Valentine’s Day — Tu B’Av.  

This session our campers and staff will be having a blast while learning about water and energy conservation through our partnership with Conservation Generation and GabiH20.  We’re hoping by the end of the summer to create at least three behavior changes in our campers and staff: showering in less time, turning off the tap when we brush our teeth, and only putting the three P’s (poop, pee, and toilet paper) down the toilet. Our programs reinforce these behaviors through an Israel modern and historical lens — showing our campers the water energy initiatives Israel has accomplished to become so incredibly eco-cool. We will be painting rain barrels, learning about composting and teaching how to save water through an awesome game called Gabi Trumps. Finally, by planting a tree in National Forests on behalf of every CJ family this summer, we hope to help offset the estimated carbon footprint of our camper travel to and from camp thereby creating positive change in our camp community and at home.
